You’ve decided you want to get yourself a hot tub, and an Inflatable Hot Tub seems like the best option. How much does it cost to run is your next question.
On the Lay-Z-spa website, they estimate that it costs around *£7 – £10 a week to run an inflatable hot tub. This is an estimate only though as it depends on your electricity supplier costs and tariff, size of your inflatable spa and so on.
Generally, Inflatable hot tubs are a lot cheaper to maintain and run than a traditional fixed solid hot tub you may see with a wooden surround.
There are a few things you could do to try and lower the cost. First is to ensure you always place the lid on the hot tub to keep in the lid.
You could also purchase a floor protector to try and prevent any cold from the floor cooling off your hot tub water.
As more inflatable hot tubs are thermostatically regulated, the heater will only actually switch on to top up the temperature of the water to your desired temperature, once it falls a degree or two below this as it is easier to keep warm once it drops down a little.
*Figures based Spa usage of 3 times a week for approx 25 mins with 20 mins of Lay-Z-Massage including a 5 min interval. Wind-block and cover utilised.
